
Timing : Timed course with KOM/QOM raffel prizes for all age categories for specified climbs on the Medio and Gran Fondo courses.
Breakfast: No one rides hungry! Join us for Breakfast at the Park, 6:30 - 9:00am. We will be serving coffee, orange juice, muffins, and bagels.
Rest Stops: Fully stocked and staffed rest stops at strategic locations along all courses.
Post Ride Feast: A gourmet feast in the true Italian tradition. Beer, wine, and other beverages are available.
Massage: Post ride massage will be available at the post ride party in San Dieguito Park.
Freebies: A goodie bag will be available as well as a commemorative event T-shirt and medal.
Participation: Open to all riders 15 years of age and up. Each rider must be in sound health for the event chosen. Riders under 18 must have the consent of a parent or guardian.

Pro-I Invitational: Open to all licensed professionals and former professional riders free of charge.
Registration Deadline: Online registration will close at NOON PDT on September 6, 2013. Late registration will begin Saturday September 7, at 8:00 am at the Bike Fest Expo.
Packet Pickup: Begins Saturday September 7th, at 8:00 am at the Bike Fest Expo. We are encouraging ALL participants to pick up their packets Saturday, however it will be possible to pick up race packets on Sunday morning at San Dieguito Park at 5:30 am. Rider packets for the Mountain Bike Fondo can also be picked up at 7:00 am at Del Dios Community Park on Sunday.
Merchandise For Sale: Limited edition 2013 Giro di San Diego Granfondo cycling jerseys may be purchased when registering online, and at the Bike Fest Expo. All jerseys are made to order. You may order a jersey at any time and at the expo. However the ship date varies based on you place the order with us, and when we place the order with Zoca Gear. Based on these variables we cannot guarantee your jersey we arrive by the event. Typical production times are around 6 weeks.

Official Ride Hotel: The Courtyard Marriott hotel of San Diego/Solana Beach is our official hotel. Special rates for our participants are offered until August 31, or until rooms are sold out. Book rooms here.
The Start: All road rides on Sunday start from San Dieguito Park. The starts will be staggered, open starts in 3 waves. Wave 1 will be our VIP, Pro and Gran Fondo riders. Wave 2 will be the Medio Fondo riders. Wave 3 will be our Piccolo Fondo riders.
Starting Time: Gran Fondo riders will start from 7:00-8:00am. Medio Fondo riders from 8:00-9:00. Piccolo Fondo riders from 9:00-9:30. Please plan to be parked and staged for your ride a half hour before your starting period. The Mountain Bike Fondo will start at Del Dios Community Park in Escondido at 9:00am.
Maximum Time: 11 hours / All courses close at 6:30 pm.
Timed Climbs: There are two timed climbs on this course. The Lake Wohlford climb will serve as the KOM/QOM for the Medio Fondo riders. The Mt. Palomar climb will serve as the KOM/QOM for the Gran Fondo riders.
Awards: Awards will be presented starting at 2:30pm in the pavilion. Raffle prizes will be given to the fastest on the KOM/QOM climb for each age category.
Parking: Parking in San Dieguito park will be free, courtesy of the event. The park will be open at 6:00am. For those that would like to arrive earlier there will be plenty of parking outside the park (Highland, El Camino Real). And parking attendants will be available. If you chose to park your car on other nearby streets, please be sure to adhere to any posted no-parking signs or other parking regulations.
Parking 2: Another good reason to ride to the event! The gates at San Dieguito Park close and lock at 7:30pm. Cars in the lot may be towed. We don't control this. So if you think there is any chance that your car is going to be there at 7:30pm, park outside of the park when you arrive.
No Parking Option: For those that live in Solana Beach or any of the surrounding communities feel free to ride to the start. The start line is located on Lomas Santa Fe, 2 miles east of Coast Highway. To encourage this option we will have a bag drop at the start line (see below)
Bag Drop: Bag drop service at the start line will run from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm. Please be responsible for labeling your bag with your name and bib number.
Helmets: Required at this event and must be worn at all times while on the bike. They also need to be in good working order and meet current ANSI helmet codes.
Required Equipment: All cyclists are required to carry tools for changing tires, extra inner tubes or sew-ups, and a tire pump.
Aero Bars: Having aero bars on your bike is fine, but it is important that they are used safely. Do not use aero bars when riding in a pack or drafting another rider. Because the road will be crowded at the start of the ride, the use the aero bars within the first 5 miles of the ride is not allowed.
Mechanical Assistance and SAG: Four mechanics will be stationed along the course. Road support is provided by Revolution Bike Shop. For the Mountain Bike Fondo, ride support is provided by Loaded components.
Routes Changes: Routes are subject to change due to unforeseen issues with weather, road construction or permits.
Cancellation Policy: If the event is canceled within 4 weeks of the scheduled event date no refund will be provided. If the event is canceled more than 30 days prior to the scheduled event date, a refund will be provided less a processing fee of $15.
